Do I need to pay tax when shopping online at amazon ?

Also how is tax rules apply to online shopping.

I’m in California and apparently Amazon is in Washington state. Since i pay from out of state I dont have to pay tax ?

      For example if you live in washington state as where amazon only collects sales tax to go through the taxes from the purchase and pay the sales taxes yourself legally you live in ie wa ny nd since you live in ca amazon will collect taxes from the sales tax if you live in the states they operate.
